Why you should order prints through your photographer’s professional lab…

A few months ago, I took some pictures of my friend’s two adorable girls.  Recently, she had printed the images at Target and I was  invited to check out her newly posted photo collage featuring my work.  However, when I stepped in and took one look, my jaw dropped in horror and I was immediately discouraged. Thinking my calibration must have been off, I ordered the same prints from my lab and was stunned by the difference. The image below is not the best quality as it’s a picture of a picture, but the difference is obvious. See for yourself:

The image on the left was printed at Target, and the one on the right was printed through my lab with no color correction.

    I tell people that all the time, but there is the patience factor. People want their pictures now, and will settle for poor quality one hour photos over superior lab prints.
